Good Ribs and Our Home

On Saturday, I were invited to play golf with an old friend, and then Melody joined us for a visit and dinner. The dinner was take out from the local rib joint, that was very interesting. It's done the old fashion way with wood under these large drawersand they are loaded with chicken and ribs. Then they rub BBQ all over with some bread that we don't know why hey use it, but it's GOOD!

Since we are here most of the time, Melody decided we should do some landscaping. Here are shots of both sides with our plants and mulch.

Time with Family

Last weeekend, our daughter and grandkids drove to Georgia to see Mel's folksso we decided to fly up and see them also. We hadn't seen them since late January, and it was great.

Abby had a pair of funky glass's, and she looked adorable.

Here little Caleb decided to dance with Abby. You can see, she wasn't sure about the idea.

Then, it was great to get shots of the different generations.

Yet-another trip

Sorry my pictures are a little out of order, but this is a completed room in the basement of the new home our hosts were moving into. Below is a member of our team, Ralph Abuhl, from Montana, and he taped and finished ALL the drywall. I have never seen anyone finish drywall with a concrete trowel, but he did it, and it looked great. Here he took a glob in the eye for the team.

These pictures show some of the begining of the project. The couple there had friends come in and frame and wire the rooms, and we hung and finished the drywall.

This picture shows where we had to go to sleep. We stayed in an old school which is where the family lived for the past 1 1/2 year. Imagine having to trek down 3 flights of stairs to use the restroom.

This the old kitchen of the school, which they used as thei kitchen. The pictures taken were after most of their belongings were taken out already, but you can see the large rooms they had for everything. And here is the outside of the school. It's clame to fame is that it was used back in the 70's for the filming of the first Superman movie. I need to rent it and see how they did it.

This is the Taylor family who we did the work for. Rob and Karen, with 5 of their 6 kids. Their oldest daughter is traveling with a Wycliffe group. We flew up on Tuesday March 25, and returned on Tuesday April 1. The weather wasn't too cold, and no snow to slow us down.
Now, we are off to Georgia to see Mel's folks and our daughter and grandkids. Pictures of them to come.
