Up North & EAst

Here we are again, back in the USA, and good Internet connection. The first shot is Paul and me fixing the lift on the motor home so we could continue our trip. This was after going to buy bolts, and a trailer to haul our bike. It worked fine, and we will get the lift fixed when we get back to Rockford.

We made it to Nova Scotia on Sunday, Jul 20, and parked our rigs at the Wycliffe Canada property. We were going to ride to Prince Edward Island, but the rain cam in, so decided to take Paul's truck instead. We toured the island to the east on Monday, and then on Tue, we went to Avon Green, which is the reenactment of where Anne of Green Gables was written. For those who know the stores, you can see Mel and Mary sporting there braids. They also had some square dancing that Paul and Mary got into.

We left there and went southeast near Halifax. After setting up, we took a ride into town, and found a great place on the water to park with lots of other bikes, and have a bite to eat. After dinner, we walked along the pier, and saw this tug boat named Theodore, that gave rides. We thought our grand kids would love that.

The next day, we toured near the Bay of Fundy, and saw miles of fairly dry riverbeds. We learned that this is the area where the largest tide works. It changes as much as 53 feet, and does it within a few minutes. It was beautiful, and amazing to see.

We then moved northeast near Sydney, and took a ferry across to New Foundland. The first shot is the dock we left from, and the second is the bikes all tied down for the trip.

While in NF, we toured some beautiful coastal areas, and this shot is in a small town with a great seafood restaurant. They had 2 specialties, one similar to smelt, and the other was Cod Tongue. I ordered just one piece of each, and it was interesting the small fish was very fishy tasting, and had bones that you just ate. The Cod tongue wasn't something to order lot's of, but in a pinch, was ok.

We got back to Nova Scotia, and one ride we wanted to do was the Cabot Trail, which is about 160 Miles of mountains, and coastal roads. All went well, and the scenery was beautiful, and then it began to rain. Here Paul and Mary sit waiting for a small ferry to cross a 200 ft body of water, with full rain gear on
